Do you have any idea ????

Postby kim9004 » Tue Apr 28, 2009 12:49 am

hello........

Just wondering how many browsers you use when you're testing your website. Do you have any idea how many browsers your target market uses? Does it make any difference to you?

You can find out in your stats program exactly what browsers your visitors are using. What kind of stats program do you use?

When I'm putting together a new website I check it in Firefox and IE .... it seems that if it works in those two it works across the others as well.

If I'm making small changes, I only check Firefox and IE. However, if I'm doing a total redesign, before I get started, I look at my stats on the to see which ones my visitors are using the most. Then after I get the new design up, I go to http://browsershots.org/ and check all of browsers that my visitors are using. Depending on how many you select, it can take a while for the screenshots to populate but you can see a wide variety at once.

I too try to make sure everything is working fine in Firefox and IE. I think if you've got those two covered you have the vast majority of Internet users covered. I check my stats regularly, but only occasionally look at the browser stats out of curiosity more than anything.

I still check my WordPress sites too... there are still some themes don't look the same in both browsers.
