Online credit card orders

Postby sct100 » Thu Apr 09, 2009 10:43 am

I am sure it is here someplace, but I can't find it. Anyway, what do you use for getting online credit card accounts? I have paypal, but some people just don't like it. Is there a one size fits all place or do I have to get accounts from Visa and MC separately?

So many choices. 1shoppingcart seems to be a popular choice online, but that's a full cart. If you just need a payment gateway there are lots of options like and many others in that arena as well. Try a search for "accept credit cards online" or "merchant account" or even "online payment gateway" and you should get quite a lot of places to choose from. The only downside I see for you is that most of these places charge a monthly fee.

I think PayPal is the one size fits all place! :)

I use and I've also used (2CheckOut). They each work a bit differently in what cart systems they will connect to, so depends on what/how you want to use credit card processing as to which would best suit your needs.

For example: ProPay allows you to call in and manually process cards - which is good if you are a craft merchant selling at craft fairs and need to authorize a credit card at an event like that.

2CO does not have the phone-in authorizing feature, but it does connect to more shopping cart systems than ProPay for a more seamless online shopping.

So it depends.

Again, PayPal does it all - even accepts credit card funded payments from customers, even if they don't have a PayPal account. ;)
