Starting in affiliates.

Ok, I think I have decided to give affiliate programs a try.

As I have mentioned in my introduction post, I am not exactly what you would call "experienced" in the world of ebiz.

I really have no clue how to start and what to do.

I'm hoping that someone(s) will be able to walk me through getting my first venture into online business going.

I signed up for the 5 day affiliate course thingy in one of the forums and it seems interesting so far even though I'm only on the first one.

What I really need to know are things like how do I choose what things to be an affiliate for? How do I know the things I choose are actually decent products so I'm not putting my name to a crap product?

After choosing the product(s) how does one arrange the website?

I've heard most posts about this talk about putting up articles about the product(s). Should these articles be changed up regularly or not?

As you can see, I'm a total newb at this and really need, literally, step by step help to help me learn.

It all depends on what you like and know to help decide what products to promote. There are digital products you can promote found on places like or
or if you would like physical products you can check out , , or a few others.
I have found a nice selection of products for parenting and family products for my new blog and I know I will be busy for some time.

I have tried some of these products I promote, or know people who have, or have read some research on these products. This is how I decided which products I would promote.

You will have no problems finding something once you have decided what niche you would like to go into and do some keyword research.

If you're trying to decide on a market there are a lot of good places to go.

Check out and look at their top sellers in any category; check out and see what topics are hot; go to and see what people are talking about -- things they want information on; go to and look through their topics and check out and look through their list of categories.

These places can all give you ideas about what topics are popular, what people are looking for.

This might help you decide on a market -- this is quite often where a lot of people get stuck! Once you know your niche you can start looking for products that fit your market.
