Where can I find good websites to buy?

Postby Jason Freeman » Sun Apr 27, 2008 10:56 am

Hello Everyone!

I am green and new to the site here. I have a few questions and here is what I am wondering. I have done some looking around but figured I should ask the experts for help. I am only interested in passive very low maintenance profitable websites.

1.Is it possible to find and buy true passive websites (very low maintenance websites) which can generate about $300-500 a month with little maintenance like 2-3 hours a month or less? (I am not looking to get rich just to supplement my income)

2.If so, where are the good places to look for them?

3.What are your honest options on buying passive websites good or bad? What else should I consider? I am not looking to get rich just to supplement my income.

4.When considering buying an established website, what other things should I look for to be included in the purchase price? I noticed on a few listings I was looking at, sometimes some things were not always included in the purchase price like:

Trade names:
Images and Content:
Original Graphics:
Software:
3rd Party Licenses:

Obviously these things need to be included for it to be a functional profitable website. What other things should I look for to be included in the purchase price?

5.How can I research and determine if the site can generate $300-500 consistently before I buy?

6.How often do websites for sale on broker sites have false profit margins?

Thank you,
Jason Freeman

Jason, I think what you will learn is that anyone who truly has a passive income site generating that kind of money will have ZERO interest in selling it.

If they were going to sell it, they would probably want $10,000+ for it. Think about it, if it is generating passive income at $500/month, that's worth $6,000/year to them, without much effort.

You'd be much better looking for sites that are getting traffic and rankings, but obviously the owner has no idea how to monetize his site. Then your job would be to monetize the site, and maintain and update.

But again, those REAL opportunities will not be in great quantity.

You're best opportunity is to build sites for yourself. Yes, it will take time and effort, but that's true in every industry and business.

I know you can buy websites on Ebay. I am not sure if they are what you are looking for. Might be a great way to buy a starter site that you can build onto.
