I always did other war round. word - pdf.
But a search on google resulted in floods of websites offering freeware, or software for sale with trial downloads. check it out.

I use a tool called Nitro PDF, it does the very thing you are after plus other cool things. For instance I have used it to create a brandable ebook filled with my affiliate links. That allowed me to do a bit of viral marketing. it's a tad expensive at $99 but you can get a 14 free trial.

Just go to google and search for Nitro PDF.

Hmmm, I always wonder when someone asks that question in my computer consulting business, and the answer is usually they are trying to violate copyright laws and take portions out of someone else's PDF files.

If you don't own the PDF file, and it's not in the public domain, then you should NOT be reversing their creation process to get their content. Hopefully that's not your intent.

You can also print the file, then scan it using an OCR program that comes with most scanners, and it will convert into Word.
