There is no magic bullet to making money online. If you are interested in starting a business of your own, below are a few legitimate ways of making money:

1. Get paid to read emails/surf the web - paid to surf the internet programs are convenient because ads appear as you are browsing the net. 2. Get paid to take surveys - Be careflul with these because you can make guarenteed money, but you do need to watch yourself. Some survey sites only give you points and the point system is not that great when applied to rewards or they may enter you enter a drawing where you can win a prize and everyone else receives nothing. The trick is to make the most out of online surveys is to do the free and cheap trial offers and then cancel them in the end. Try globaltestmarket.com and greenfieldonline.com.

3. Get paid to write - You will either get paid a flat rate based on the viewing audience generated or you can write blogs and full-length articles. Recommended are associatedcontent.com and creative-weblogging.com.

4. Get paid to be social - There are a number of ways you can get paid by finding helping people jobs, sharing contact information, as well as sharing photos, videos, and normal social activity. Recommended are gather.com and flixya.com.

5. Referring People - probably the best way of making money online. This is where you make money by referring people to sites like gather.com or inboxrewards.com. By joining these sites, you obtain a referral code that you use to bring people to participate within these sites. Once they join, you are paid. If you put your mind to it, how many people could you invite in an hour or two? There is a drawback. The drawbacks are that there is not much of it available and the income is not sustainable. Once you have told all of your friends, then you will have to go and meet new people and invite them. But, of course everyone gets in on the action. The money is good while you can get it.

Shoot for the long term. Build sites that are going to do well life long.

Most get rich quick schemes don't work anyways aside from that they appeal to people because we're told it takes little effort etc.

Work towards your goal and yes it takes work but if you build it for the long hual you'll one day look back and laugh at the "get rich quick guys"

Find some programs to build residual monthly income.

Find a mentor, someone you look up to, and ask questions, then follow what they do. You will be successful!

You bring up a good point to about the 9 out of 10 failures. I was over at the ShoeMoney blog the other day and he's been ultra successful be he even admits that about 9 out of 10 ideas turn out to fail on his ends as well.

But the basics of business never die. You are dead on.

Yeah, most of people fail online because:

They think it`s easy and lazy business and they expect overnight riches...

It´s not hard, I don`t say that, but it takes time to learn.

In my opinion the only guaranteed way to make long term money is to build your list and learn email marketing overall.

You can also go and do direct linking stuff and make money...But if you`re a newbie you`ll most likely lose your shirt (and your pants) on the process.

This is what I suggest newbies to do:
Learn about html and page building, get domain and hosting, set up autoresponder, create squeeze page and write email series with your affiliate links...

Yeah, it takes work but it`s the guaranteed way to make money online.

I fully agree online is not extremely hard but you have to have savvy and time to really put into it. Even in the business world, you cannot open a shop and expect customers to flood in your door, you have to pre market, market and market some more, you have to build a good reputation and give quality and service that surpasses your competition.

Consumers now more than ever are revolting in large numbers against poor service, MSNBC just had an article on their site about consumers using the internet to either give good reviews or bad ones against all kind of companies. As the internet grows as a familiar tool for consumers more and more they are turning to blogs and rip off sites to stress their views.

That being said, when you are in business for yourself no matter if it is online or out in your community it takes a lot of time and attention to properly build, getting rich overnight is a pipe dream. Not saying it has not happened but it is definately not a standard for online business.

Be prepared to roll up your sleeves and dig in, set some realistic goals to achieve and go for it. Wilie Crawford is a great mentor along with others. Lynn has come a very long way and is a great inspiration for those who are just getting started. I know Lynn from when I lived in the same town she did years ago, she has really grown into her own and is very wise when it comes to online marketing.
