Using affiliate programs to fill adspace in software?

Hi,

I'm in the process of developing a series of small web-automation applications that *should* prove quite popular among a very large group of kids and young adults. What I want to do is put a rotating banner in each application in the hopes of generating revenue on a PPC basis.

Now, I've never done any kind of advertising before so I'm completely lost here. I have looked at the affiliate programs offered by valueclick and commisionjunction, but they only seem to support web-sites.

Any advice or help here would be very welcome!

(keep in mind that you can always email the site owner and discuss your specifics with them to make sure they approve you as an affiliate w/o a website - Most site owners wont turn away a promising affiliate with a highly targeted audience )

The links above will allow you to add a 'search the web' box within your program... this may be one of the least intrusive and most profitable types of programs to add - - considering you are targeting children and young adults which may not be 'buyers' but are certainly 'surfers'
