Have you tried ? I find it to be extremely helpful in researching both your targeted market (what they are searching *for*) and your competition. I use the free trial, plug in generic (but content-specific) terms, make note of the variations of keywords/phrases used by searchers, research competition for keywords/phrases by plugging them into the Google search engine, etc...

just when everyone is winding down to enjoy their families, good food, and
dare I say a drink or two?

Yes - I wrote the article.

I have spent the last 8 years helping companies and individuals develop
products for niche markets - the last 2 years online specifically helping
hundreds of people develop well positioned ebooks, special reports and
other information products.

The latest trend I see happening to is believe that using a few keyword
tools you have everytyhing you need to create great products.

They are helpful for narrowing your search and testing concepts - but it
still comes down to what are people asking for TODAY. And what have they
proven to spend money on in the past.

Discussion forums are a great way to patch into niche-based, global
discussions on exactly what problems people are trying to solve and
what desires motivate them.

This is a bit off-topic, but for lead generation for higher
ticket items i'd check out
