When I'm at the computer and managing my business or doing research, I think of it as if I'm studying. Studies have shown that you retain more information if you get up and walk around and do something else (anything else) for 5 minutes every hour. Another thing is, every so often, try to stand up, stretch, look up, take 3 deep breaths and then continue again. You'll feel much more invigorated and awake.
If your eyes get tired and feel hard, try getting a bag of ice, lay down and put them over your eyes for just 5 minutes. Your eyes will feel softer and not as tired anymore. Do not press down on the ice though. And if it's too cold, try putting a paper towel under the bag of ice.
One last thing is, Boroque classical music has been proven to improve your memory, but the fact is, if you don't like classical music, you can play your favorite type of music but VERY softly. It should play in the background just loud enough to hear the songs, but soft enough to not 'cause you to sing along. It helps keep all outside noise and allow you to fully concentrate on what you're doing - like writing an article, thinking up the next million dollar idea, or simply trying to pay your bills.
