I was only able to get on the notification list. Is there a secret to getting the beta version? I can keep a secret - really lol But searching does sound better than 25 folders saving all the old mail I'll never read again. Now if only Google can get a search system for the garage, I'm sure there's a box of office supplies in there somewhere.

I can't get one yet. If you weren't given a beta tester account you're out of luck until Google releases the final version. Too bad for us......unless someone has accounts to give away -

No, gmail is via invite only. Just have to find someone with an account who has some extra invites. 
I have had an account for a long time, but I never use it, so I haven't gotten any new invites to give out in a while.

This system really sucked when it first came out but the bugs seem to have been exterminated. So far I like it a lot.
