Test my plugin modifications please ...

Postby kirkward » Wed Feb 25, 2009 6:39 pm

I had some modifications done to a WordPress plugin and want to see how well the coding was done, and what user reactions are to the interface.

If you are willing to test it, please visit http://consultantsupplyroom.com and navigate to

1) http://consultantsupplyroom.com/events/add-speaker and then
2) http://consultantsupplyroom.com/events/add-venue and finally
3) http://consultantsupplyroom.com/events/add-event

inserting some semi-realistic person, venue and event for inclusion in the calendar. The events you enter will be listed for moderation and I'll release them for display in the calendar at http://consultantsupplyroom.com/events/

Let me know what you think.

Thanks,
Kirk

Ok - working good so far, got me added as speaker and got my venue added; but need I guess the venue approved before it will let me select that for my event. I actually have a real event I can add. :)

Hi Traci,

That seems to be what it needed. Seems venues need to be approved before they can be used to hold an event. I'll have to think that through and chat with the coder. Maybe I need to have them available but pending. That way, new users can enter their event and if the venue is not approved, the event and speaker get flagged for review.

Hmmm.

Anyhoo, you and your venue are approved. You can now post your event.

Cheers

PS - I have another part of this going online in a few days that will amaze and surprise all users. Stay tuned.

PPS - FYI, this is an extension I had built for the "Gigs Calendar." I didn't want to sit here manually entering everyone else's information. In Gigs Calendar, all data entry is currently done by the admin. I had this extension built to make that ability available to the public, but I have the ability to moderate.

Guess I need the "Dummies" version of your site as there was no obvious way to join, no fee schedule, I realize that there are different strokes for different folks and far be it from me to put down a fellow SSWT'r but wasn't able to do much if anything on your site. You asked, I replied and can only go with what I see on a site in this case there wouldn't be any reason to return.

There isn't any reason to return, as there isn't anything on that site ... yet.

What I asked in the original post was for volunteers to go directly to those links and try to set up a gig/event and see what they thought of the functionality of the plugin extension.n I was not asking for a full site review.

I'd love to have your money, but there ain't nothing to give you yet. Only thing there now is the plugin extension to test.

Cheers

You are now in the calendar. Thanks!

BTW - You didn't choose the name of the speaker for the event. I've asked the coder to fix that by pulling from the logged in user information.

Take a look at the listing and let me know what you think.

Hey Kirk I'm certain I selected my name from the dropdown box as the speaker. Didn't see anywhere else to add that info.

Thanks for adding me to the calendar!
