My AC is located in all of the top rooms of my house, my room is the absolute furthest point from the stairs leading downstairs, so when it gets hot it will be 3 days before I can actually sleep comfortably :(

Stefani, why can't you use a normal window unit?

I've seen the portable ones in use at parties- I think they're more expensive than the same BTU of a regular AC unit, but a good value if you'll need to move it around a lot.

We have central AC, however DH likes to save $$$ and keep raising the thermostat to 80 or so!

Keep a big bottle of ice-water on your desk:)

Hot house

Hon I know what you are talking about. We have no central unit and it is 85 degrees inside the house. The electric bill this month was 320 plus so we have to suffer the heat a bit. Almost unbearable.
