The notebook can't be beat!
It's actually my main PC as I like to get around a bit. BUT ... I do have a reasonably up-to-date desktop that I can download stuff to. I also do some daytrading in the mornings and when I'm home, I use the desktop.
This is my second notebook. I try to get a new one every two years and my desktop every three years.
But I love my notebook!

The only downside to a notebook might be that they're more expensive than desktops and you're limited as to how far you can upgrade except for memory (RAM). With desktops, it's easier to swap out parts AND alot less expensive. With notebooks it's harder to do replacement parts yourself (if you're so inclined).
But the notebook offers portability which is it's BIGGEST selling point.
