We've recently purchased a Gateway GM5420 and are running Vista Ultimate on it. It's a real power wagon with dual processors.
Actually learned a lesson in customer service from this purchase. The computer came with Vista Premium. During the upgrade, some of the software that came with the machine got lost on the hard drive.
I called Gateway and asked how I might recover this software. Gateway was of no real help. Their basic advice was for me to ship them $20 and they'd send me a CD.
They weren't moved by my argument that we'd purchased the machine only hours before. What they wanted was an extra $20.
I later "found" the software hiding in a hard drive folder. I like the machine very much, but Gateway lost a chance to win a customer for life through one simple phone interaction.
