I'm a TV junkie. Happened during a "real job". I used to work on the trading floor of a brokerage house and we always had CNBC on. I because so used to be able to look and listen to the tv I can't break the habit now that I work at home.

It does have a benefit though

when I see something on the TV I am likely to take my eyes of the screen, thereby resting them and blinking more than I would just staring at a screen all day.

I always have my tv on too, even when I am not watching it.

I can work with the tv on low, or the stereo on - my faves are celtic harp cds (don't groan!), Edith Piaf (I lived in France), Harry Connick, Sara McLachlan, 60s-70s-80s music - very eclectic.

I can also work without any distractions, and it all works for me - whatever I feel like.

Oh - the only ONE thing I *cannot* work with, is the gardener and his whippersnipper 10 feet from my door for a half hour!!! groan ...
