I've found this next to impossible ever since Clickbank introduced their
search feature. Now, no matter how you cloak your links, those who are
determined can always go to Clickbank, do a search on your product
and get the link.

But assuming that most of your visitors are just not bothered enough to
go through all that trouble, you can still prevent affiliate link theft to some
extent. Using a script like is one way.

What I've done is not as hi tech. But it's free and requires some web skills
on your affiliate's part. This will only work if the affiliate has his or her
own web site.

I created my affiliates a file called "myproduct.php" which will redirect to
the their affiliate Clickbank URL. They will have to upload this to their
domain name. So, instead of sending people to the Clickbank link, they
send them to http://www.theirdomainname.com/myproduct.php.

I also change the order link on my sales page to an "order.php" page
which will redirect to Clickbanks order form.

This way, the Clickbank is not "viewable" in any step of the referring and
buying process. And I use PHP redirect because it does an instant redirect.
A HTML meta redirect will take a bit longer and it actually shows the URL
that you are redirecting to in the browser bar.
