Affiliate Marketing Question

I have a question about affiliate marketing...Does one need a domain name and a hosting company to get srarted...I have seen many urls that have the mark of an affiliate..id+1234 ...Whats the story here.

I DO think you need a domain name and hosting account if you are going to get serious about Affiliate Marketing. Whether you are promoting your link via Pay-Per-Click, search engines, in your signature (email/forums), or even offline... having your own domain gives your link more credibility (looks better) and gives you a lot more options.

Affiliate links wont rank in search engine listings. Affiliate links can hardly be used successfully in Pay-Per-Click ads. Etc. So having your own domain name (less than $10/year) and hosting account - which you can also get very inexpensively - is your first step.
