Who's the best?

Hi all,

There are many different affiliate companies to choose from. Are all of them honest? Shouldn't a person sign on with all of them (the honest ones)?

There has to be a "best" out there - who is it?

What are the ins-and outs of working with the affiliate companies?

Hi Karen,

The big affiliate networks are Commission Junction (CJ) (http://www.cj.com)
and LinkShare (url=http://www.linkshare.com). CJ also owns BeFree. These two handle the bulk of the affiliate programs out there.

There are also a few other affiliate networks like ShareaSale and Performics but I haven't tried them out completely.

Then there's ClickBank (http://www.clickbank.com) for digital products like ebooks.

You can also find independent affiliate programs by doing a search on Google or Yahoo for 'keyword' + 'affiliate program'.

You can join all of them, but no one has time to fully dedicate themselves to everything... unless you have an army of people working for you.

Well, the overall best would probably be and their offerings, including incredible affiliate resources, hosting and mailing list manager.

It's not so much a matter of being the best as it is being the most right...for you, that is.

Hock mentioned and . is good too. is a good one for promoting freebies.

Bottom line: think of products and/or services you'd like to promote on your site, find them and check to seeif they have an affiliate program.

Take a good look at their payment terms and so on. HINT: Long-term cookies with short-term payout schedules is best! That means someone clicking your link is identified as your customer-to-be and when they do buy, you're paid sooner rather than later.

So find what YOU want to offer and what YOU feel most comfortable.

Aside from joining the networks I mentioned, find others that pay you for referring others or provide a second tier commission on the sales of those you refer.

Then you're creating an "invisible" income stream that you can generate in several ways.

Do a search for compatible programs - you could do several, actually! - to locate more good matches.

And don't forget Clickbank!
