The affiliate program for just became available, which I happily joined (or rejoined, I guess) after just as happily promoting the last version.

HowEVER...

While reading the welcome email, I noticed that it was cookied so that the LAST affiliate link clicked received credit for the sale and, of course, the commission.

Boo hiss! Sitesell credits the original affiliate who most likely did the actual preselling. Now someone can read up on my site and then later notice a link on another and say, "Oh yeah...I wanted to get that!", click it and someone ELSE gets the sale?!?

Sure is a lousy policy if they are doing that. Shame on Paul Smithson. He always seemed to be an upfront guy. We exchanged numerous personal emails.

Before I got out of affiliate marketing to promote my own products and my own affiliate program, I made over $25,000 as an xSitePro affiliate. I was the original XSitePro affiliate rebate site offering a $50 rebate to those who purchased through my link, plus a boatlaod of bonuses. I even received a few "commendations" from XSitePro for my efforts.

All that is gone now, though. Now I concentrate on my own products and my own affiliate program.

BOO HISS is right Dan, if Paul Smithson is doing what you say.
