Landing pages main objective is to do what for affiliate marketers ?

Can someone that is not a affiliate marketer, use landing pages effectively as well, when they are selling maybe selling mortgages instead of selling others online merchants products

Many people use landing pages to get that all-important opt in email address. Another use, and I think even more important, is to Presell your potential customer....warm him/her up to make the purchase. Preselling is a skill many marketers do not appreciate or fail to develop.
