Where Can I promote my site for College Students?

This is a little off topic (well off-line actually), but college newspaper print ads are typically a bargain and tend to have a high readership. I ran some ads last year in a couple of local college newspapers (Wake Forest and Duke) with success. The cost was dirt cheap. Something to consider...

If you can figure out different places college students go online, you can try advertising on those websites where college students visit. Now, I realize this is a fairly "broad" answer, but the key is to find a site that is targeted to college students...but also accepts advertising.

If you are going to use paid advertising, you may want to look into Pay Per Click advertising options on Google Adwords, Yahoo Search Marketing, MSN, etc. I am sure there are a great number of keywords you could use.

As Getagrip suggested, if you can find out where the college kids hang out online, then you could advertise there.

If you're looking to go beyond general advertising, then you could consider social networking sites - a haven for college students. For instance, MySpace, FaceBook, YouTube - but each of these sites require finesse if you plan to market via them. Straight ads will probably get you in trouble.

And while you're showcasing your product, you'll also be able to learn more about and network with your target demographic.
