JV Tips For A 1st-Time Non-Marketing Ebook, Anyone?

Postby Domain Name Guy » Sun Nov 06, 2005 3:12 am

Hi everyone.

I've been reading about JVs as much as I can. But none of them seem to
answer some questions I've got, so I thought of asking here.

Some points and thoughts I want to mention:

1. I once did a WSO in the Warriors Forum. If some of you saw it, I got a
lot of views but not one bit.

2. I've not been able to sell my ebook. Not one bit, especially after what
happened to number 1.

3. My blog from my sig file can give you ideas what it's about, especially
the subtitle.

4. I'm going to write it personally and mail it. It'll burn a deeper hole in my
pocket, but I'll probably have a better chance of getting it to them given
the reality of emails being filtered.

5. I'll try to point out as many benefits as possible for the JV prospect, but
especially for his/her lists.

Number 5 is the point I'm somewhat focusing on. I figure by helping others
out, I'll be helping myself in the process.

I'll probably sound stupid for saying this, but I'm thinking of emphasizing
how my ebook will possibly benefit his/her lists aside from him/her. I won't
ask for a price, I'll ask the JV prospect to download a complimentary copy
and provide feedback.

In short, I won't say I'm going to sell this for $27 or so. Nor would I say I'll
give 30% or even 50%, not yet anyway.

What I want to focus on is trying to convince my JV prospect my ebook
can possibly help him/her, but more importantly his/her list. The catch in
this case, though, is it's involving one aspect of setting up an online biz.

I was thinking of trying to JV domain resellers. But I figure many of them
might get pissed, or worse sell my ebook as their own (I'm probably being
paranoid about this, but it's a reality).

So the next "best thing" to possibly JV with are you 'net marketers. Most if
not all of you have domain names, after all.

Bottom line: my ebook aims to help domain owners know how to keep
their domain names as safe, active, and problem-free as possible. Based
on my extensive experience, many domain owners don't really know the
devil-in-the-details others have called about but can be prevented.

Sorry if this post's kinda long and beating around the bush. I just hope I'm
able to get my point across so it can be understood.

On the side, I've at least 1-2 I can possibly send a JV offer because they
are also involved in the domain name business. But I'm also thinking of
letting 'net marketing "gurus" know about this, especially for newbies in
their lists.

Anyway, any feedback is appreciated. At this low point, I need all the help
I can possibly get.

Thank you all for your time.
