I've been self employed for 30 years, and so appreciate the value of a good attitude, and a pull ourselves up by our bootstraps mindset.
I've noticed that it's common to say attitude is everything in online business, and this is probably because it's true.
What we rarely see is any serious effort to teach the kind of attitudes that are necessary for self employment. If attitude is everything, why are cliches the main instruction technique?
I hope to respectfully debate the notion that luck does not exist.
Did we have anything to do with being born? Luck.
Did we have anything to do with our basic intelligence? Luck.
Did we have anything to do with our genetics, or the family we were born in to? Luck.
Did we choose to be born in to a free country, where we would be able to be self employed? Luck.
Did we personally invent the Internet marketplace? Luck.
Did we choose to be the kind of person who would have a get up and go attitude? Our invention, our decision? More luck.
Some of us, most of us, don't take full advantage of all the amazing luck we've been given. Working on that is, attitude.
