You can check if your site is indexed by just typing in your URL in the search box. Example: http://www.mysite.com.

If it's indexed it will display your site, if not then of course it won't be displayed.

Also just by creating a site and uploading it doesn't mean that it will be automatically indexed by the search engines. It has to be sumitted, if you don't they won't know that your site is out there.

A quick way to do that is to create a digg account, squidoo lens or hubpage with your URL. It should get indexed within 24 hours, normally much sooner than that.

Getting indexed can take some time, although there are techniques that can speed up the process.
