Keyword density question

What is the rule of thumb on what should be the keyword density for a page on your 3 primary keywords.

Is it to mention your PMK once for every paragraph if possible

No, that's too often. Once about every 100 words.

Ok...guys getting closer to undertanding, but not clear on this!

mixcat what do you mean by variances, are you refering to:

example lets say my primary keywords are:

long island clowns
new york clown
clown

Are you saying I should mention these pmk words at least 40 times through out the article, or are you saying to mention these PMK words in addition to related words associated my primary keywords, such as;

* child entertainer
* kid party entertainer
* children party performers

Mentioning the word variances confused me a little!
