You dont need a submission program - I dont use one, and I enjoy good rankings. All you need is quality unique content and proper keyword selection... and then inbound links pointing to your pages. That's it.

keep in mind that search engines and directories are different.

google is a search engine ( well, I think they have a directory as well. )

yahoo, msn, are directories.

If I remember correctly, yahoo and msn and other directories do not index the web. the only way to get in their directory is to submit and hope that they put you in.

on the other hand, search engines like google, actually go out and "index" the web. They will find every site , every page everywhere eventually and put them in the index.

now, where those sites are in the index is what SEO is all about.

You dont have to submit to Yahoo & MSN either - they are both search engines now. All it takes is links pointing to your pages, that's it :D

If you get a few links to your site you will be indexed very quickly.

Have something worth linking to, and then after you have one site indexed it is easy to link from that site to new sites to get them indexed. Blogs are great for this.

You can create your own indexing machine by starting a squidoo lens or blogger blog or Wordpress blog.

I am not suggesting you create splogs, I am suggesting a real blog with actual content and one you intend to grow and nurture.

Quite often your blog can be a general blog for a broad niche. Then you create a network of sites within the niche but more focused.

It does not have to be exactly related in theme to get indexed, that helps more for ranking.

For example, this forum here would be a great place to get a link from to any Internat related site from PPC through to SEO or Templates etc....

Some places have a "no follow" attribute so the spider will not index you from that (but you will still get traffic.)

Regards

James
