Not the same thing. Smart Pages involve redirects or cloaking, which is different.
The people who object the most to those types of pages are the ones who like to charge a high fee for SEO.
People don't seem to understand that a site owner can put whatever types of pages on his sites that he wants.
There are also a lot of crappy hand-created sites out there.

Think I'll chime in here with my opinion: Traffic Equalizer pages don't necissarily have better pages than you or I could build by hand, their USP (unique selling proposition) is that their software can churn 1000's of targeted pages in minutes that would take the average joe (or jennie
) hours and hours of time to build, and thus boost the chances of getting traffic sooner.
They do use a technique called "directory building" to optimize their pages which is basically like searching google for the keyword of the page then posting a link to the top 10 results on the page below your offer or advertisement.
Anyway, it's not that their optimizing is any different it's mostly the amount of optimized pages they can produce for the guy who wants the "lazy way to traffic"
and you gotta admit, the idea has it's appeal, but I'm too picky about my sites looking just the way I want them and not the way the software churns them out to use it. Not saying it's bad, I'm just saying I'm picky!
