Hi Everyone

My names John Dowling and I've just 'signed-up' to SSWT. By way of Introduction, last year I just achieved a couple of great milestones; turned 64 and was retrenched. But, to confound our faltering honouable politicians, economists, social commentators and all their contempories, I remain vertical, breathing and financially independant. ( thoughI must confess my superannuation did get savaged).

To better understand if I was in a 'healthy, wealthy and wise' position I put together a software package that integrated all my financial matters, health etc.. I did this because I couldn't find exactly what I wanted on the net and also, I needed something to do. I've given copies to a number of friends who use it and now I would like to sell it on the net.

At this point I run out of words because when it comes to building a website, name registration, hosting, affiliate marketing, I'm a complete dummy.

But, I found SSWT and I feel it's going to be the place for me to now start another journey. I look forward to the future and the pleasure of being a member of this community. I welcome your thoughts and comments.

It sounds like you have a good plan forming for your online business. We can help you with the details such as domains, hosting, affiliate marketing, etc.

For domains, I use GoDaddy.com. You want to pass on all of their "special offers" though. Its best not to host your site with your domain registrar (or register your domain with your host) so you have to move through all of those 'upsell' screens and just check out with the domain name (less than $10).

I use HostGator for hosting - comes with a lot of features, and great support. I have a coupon code you can use to get the first month free (actually for a penny, but that's about as close to free as you can get):

I do have "a thousand questions", the basic one being where do I go to ask them?

FYI, I should have my website built and ready for launch by end of February. It will target seniors (55-75) offering a personal financials software package plus free target market related information packs. I'm looking for free infopacs that I can add on to the offer. Do you know where I might source some?
