Google's New Competition?

Search experts are raving about newly launched search engine, http://Cuil.com (pronounced “cool”) Even search engine guru, Danny Sullivan who isn't easily impressed had this to say:

“Google already did a blog post in reaction to Cuil and its size claims on Friday, before Cuil even launched or those claims became public. If Google’s paying that much attention, then anyone should.”

With all due respect to Danny Sullivan, that's not good enough for me!

I visited Cuil and played around with it a little, but I wasn't impressed. In fact, I don't like anything about the site at all.

What do you guys think about Cuil?

I haven't been impressed with what I have seen. Multi-word searches turn up mostly useless results and there just doesn't seem to be much of an algorithm there to sort through the results and actually return contextually appropriate results. I'll try it again in a while, but for now, Google does what I want, and does it well.

Not the least bit impressed by what I've read... so much unimpressed that I won't even bother checking them out in person. If you're going to try to claim that you're a worthy competitor to Google, be prepared to back it up under some pretty solid scrutiny.

it's very simplistic, not very attractive to me at all and I doubt I will even give it a second look.

Have took a look at this new search engine.
Don't really like it.
- interface not nice
- search results are not fantastical
