Best sites/ezines for paid advertising?

I have just launched a site and I'm in the process of taking steps to direct traffic to it. I was wondering if anyone can recommend sites or ezines that they've had good experiences with in regard to paid advertising, eg placing a text or banner ad. I'm looking for examples where a solid amount of traffic that justifies the expense has occurred.
